About Me

Sebastian Rodriguez

I build games, and I build the serious software that proves I can engineer. Game development is what I'm chasing; it's the reason I got into this in the first place, and it's where I want to spend my career.

My path has given me a mix that I think makes me a stronger developer than the games alone would show. In school I built game projects in Unreal Engine and Unity, writing gameplay systems, AI, and the mechanic I'm proudest of, a real-time predicted trajectory throwing system. I also went a level deeper and wrote a DirectX 11 graphics project from scratch: my own HLSL shaders, lighting, and texturing. That taught me how graphics actually work under the hood, not just how to use someone else's engine.

Since then, I've spent my professional time building and running a live production platforma full web application on .NET, Blazor, and AWS that a real business depends on every day. I led the project, ran the migration off the old system, and manage another developer. That experience taught me the part of software that games schools don't always emphasize: how to ship something real, keep it running, and be responsible for it.

So that's the combination I bring: the creativity and systems-thinking of a game developer, backed by the discipline of someone who's shipped and maintained production software. I started Bistian LLC to take on work that lets me keep building, games first, but I'm glad to build whatever needs building well.

The Path

How I got here

SCHOOL

Game Development Degree

Studied game development, built team game projects in Unreal Engine and Unity, and wrote a DirectX 11 graphics engine from scratch to learn rendering at a low level.

2019–2021

Game Projects: Nightfall & Office Warfare

Gameplay programming on team projects: trajectory systems, abilities, shaders, physics, and full game systems.

2022 – PRESENT

Lead Developer, Production Platform

Led development of a live business platform on .NET, Blazor, and AWS. Learned to ship, scale, and maintain real software, and to lead a small team.

NOW

Bistian LLC

Building my own thing, and looking for the work that points all of this back toward games.

Let's talk.

Whether it's a game, a tool, or a full platform, I'd love to hear about it.
